God's Blessed Design For Women

I have experienced a fair share of the challenges of womanhood. They will largely range from juggling my roles in the home as a wife, mother and homemaker, and dealing with society's pressure to advance in my career and look a certain way. Where then can we turn to for help?

Unquenchable Hope For Parents

Being a parent is an undeniable gift from God. He gives it as he pleases. The many joys and discomforts they bring must all serve to remind us from whom they have come. When the challenging days seem endless and despair appears like an easy road to take, we must remember that God is with us.

Persecution and the burning on the stake of the reformer John Huss

John Knox

poetry

I like that name John Knox,
Sounds robust like a bull or an ox,
Give me Scotland or I die!
Was this man’s resounding cry.

To begin by way of introduction,
He was one of the leaders of the reformation,
Arguably the very first Presbyterian,
In the doctrine of justification a veteran.

It wasn’t just his name that sounded weird,
He also had a big bushy beard,
That must’ve gotten all the devils scared,
Of the man who them with prayer ensnared.

You should have heard the roaring Knox,
His preaching shook the very rocks,
On which the Catholic church did stand,
Like Calvin did in Switzerland.

Of course like all men he wasn’t perfect,
No one’s character isn’t marred with defect,
But one thing this great man understood,
Was that what Elijah of old did he could.

And so he left a great legacy,
Read the history of Scotland and you’ll see,
That like Jonathan the valiant warrior he knew,
That nothing restrains the LORD from saving, by many or by few.

Christ Died For us Vicarious

poetry

Christ died for us vicarious,
O’er sin our foe victorious,
He came from heav’n to bless us,
From our sins yea to turn us.

Satan our eyes did blind,
In his dark dreary bind,
On our own Christ, couldn’t find,
Until He sought us kind.

The wage of sin not mild,
Eternal woe dear child,
'Twill drive the stoutest wild,
Who at sin’s lure smiled.

But this must not be so,
The Saviour calls you lo,
To be from now His own.
In His own name has sworn.

Come to Him now my friend,
And follow not the trend,
That right to man may seem,
Whose end is death most grim.

I Know

poetry

I know that deep in me,
Dwells no single good thing,
And that I am not free,
From cruel master sin.

I know that God’s good law,
Demands perfection plus,
That as far as I know,
I’ve broken all, alas.

I know that He can see,
My wicked, wicked heart,
That I cannot deceive,
Him who in heaven art.

I know that God is just,
And can’t pass over sin,
Of sinners I’m the worst,
O, I must come to ruin!

But I know it is written,
That God so loved the world,
That He gave His begotten,
His one beloved Son.

I know if I believe,
In Him who for me died,
I’ll everlasting live,
And perish not as I’d

No Perfect Marriage

In as much as our marriages are meant to portray the relationship between Christ and the church, many do fall short. As Christians, it is actually a good thing to walk into marriage expecting no bed of roses, for there is no perfect marriage. How then are we to anticipate and enjoy marriage, knowing this?

Why Marriage is a Good Thing

The reality is many marriages in Kenya, and the world over, are struggling; even in Christian circles. So, why do we assert that marriage is a good thing?

She Will Be Called Eve

We live in a world growing largely postmodern, godless and thoughtless, where the foundational principles of our creation as male and female are largely confused to an array of feelings and sinful substitution, yet, God has given the woman a unique ordinance of honour, respect, obedience and submission

Regeneration

What does regeneration mean? Why is regeneration necessary? Who is the author of regeneration? What are the results of regeneration?

Justified!

How can man stand just before God? How can men have a right standing before the Almighty God? Is it possible? As Charles Hodge stated, "The answers to these questions determine the character of our religion, and, if practically adopted, our future destiny. To have a wrong answer is to mistake the way to heaven. Indeed, it is to err where error is fatal." I add, to go wrong on this is a matter of life and death. For if God offers a way through which men are justified, yet we insist on our own way, how can we expect His acceptance?
